I'm Kim Burks

I'm so happy you are here! My name is Kim and I am the founder of Ramona & Ruth, a stationery and gift brand that focuses on intentional and beautiful living. I am a mom of 2 boys and married to my husband, Brad, who I met all the way back in grade school. We live in Omaha, Nebraska.

I have had a love for stationery goods and writing tools (give me all the colored pens!) for as long as I can remember and not much has changed. I used to love going to my dad's workplace with him on Saturday mornings to play with all the office supplies.

After working as a graphic designer in a corporate job and feeling bored and unfulfilled, I knew I needed something more. I quit my job and started working part-time at a coffee shop while I built my stationery business on the side utilizing any spare moment I had.

It all started with one single drawer of cards that I created in the spare bedroom of my home with my tabletop letterpress. I remember receiving my very first wholesale order from a retailer and how excited I was, but then.

Oh shoot.

The excitement quickly faded into a sinking feeling as I thought about how I would actually get the order out the door having never fulfilled a wholesale order before. I ended up making it work with lots of googling, late nights, and packaging help from my sweet mom, but it wasn't pretty.

Now, nearly 14 years later, after all of the trial and error, hard-learned lessons, and learn as you go experiences, I have developed solid systems and processes to streamline my business to where my wholesale line can largely operate without me. I am proud to say that my company, Ramona & Ruth, produces products that are sold in over 1,200 retail stores. I am excited to be at a point where I can now share what I've learned with you so can skip all the frustration and headache I went through and be well on your way to creating a thriving wholesale business.
